Unlike
the traditional gallery with the works of various artists
filling the walls, Frank Edward Contemporary
Art in the Gulfport
Art village is reinventing the concept of the Art Gallery.
Under the innovative direction of Frank Edward Hibrandt,
Frank Edward Contemporary Art devotes its entire space to
a single installation by one artist.
An installation differs from a one person show in that a
single comprehensive work is especially created to fill the
exhibition space.
Due to the large windows directly on Beach Blvd. the work
can be seen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Gallery director Frank Edward Hibrandt has always had a passion
for bringing innovative work to the public. During his 5
year directorship of the non-profit arts organization City
of Imagination, he created the City as Museum program which
used city buildings as a venue to bring high quality art
directly to the community.
The results of his efforts earned him a Spirit of Gulfport
award as well as a special commendation by the Mayor and
City Council recognizing his work in community arts education.
He plans to continue his contributions to the community as
current chair of the Gulfport Public Arts Advisory Committee. |
